Obituary of Marie Drummond

The passing of Sara “Marie” Drummond, beloved wife of Ronald Frederick Drummond, occurred on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB on April 6, 1936, Marie was the daughter of the late Daniel and Estelle (Mersereau) Charters. Marie grew up in New Maryland and was a graduate of Fredericton High School and Fredericton Business College. She went on to work for the Government of New Brunswick, where she was employed for 11 years. Marie had a lifelong love of animals, and was especially fond of cats.

In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by her son, Scott Daniel Drummond of Laval, QC; sister-in-law, Shirley McKeown (James) of Fredericton; brother-in-law, Richard Drummond (Esther) of MacLeod Hill; nephew, Brian McKeown (Jane) of Fredericton; great-nieces, Megan and Sarah McKeown; and special cousins, Melvin Mersereau, Elmer Mersereau, Douglas Mersereau, Carol McCracken, and Linda Daley.

Cremation has taken place. An interment service will be held in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Fredericton, NB in the spring of 2026.
