Williams, David “Dave” Albert

The passing of David “Dave” Albert Williams of Fredericton, NB, husband of Carol (DeWitt) Williams, occurred on January 23, 2026, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Born on October 19, 1939, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Dave was the son of the late Albert and Florence (Jones) Williams. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and was also a business owner, proudly operating David A. Williams.

Dave had a deep passion for animals and was always on the go. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and old movies, cherished family gatherings, and would help anyone at the drop of a hat. A big kid at heart, Dave could rarely contain his playful spirit—whether engaging in water gun and balloon fights or using a frying pan as a badminton racket. A well-known tormentor in the best sense of the word, he had a gift for laughter and will be fondly remembered for the joy he brought to those around him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Michael Williams (Maureen), Jenni Williams (Dan Murphy), and Scott Williams (Phoebe); grandchildren, Morgan (KJ), Ryan (Heidi), Samantha (Eric), and Allison; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Jaxon , Blake, and Cole; siblings, Susan Tranquilla (Dwaine) and Ronald Williams (Wanda); sister-in-law, Mary Ann DeWitt; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his daughter, Kim Williams, and his brother, Wayne Williams and sister in law Coleen.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held in the summer at one of his favorite places—his camp. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
