Obituary of David Paul Dickison

David Paul Dickison of Charters Settlement; NB passed away on January 22, 2026, after a courageous journey, surrounded by love.

Born on March 25, 1955, in Houlton, Maine, David lived a life shaped by strength, independence, and deep family ties. He had a lifelong love of cars and trucks, taking pride in anything with an engine and wheels. That passion carried him across many roads and places, where he built lasting friendships through his travels and career. David valued those connections deeply and was known for the stories, laughter, and camaraderie he shared along the way.

David is survived by his daughters Andrea Dickison-Deschenes (Mark), Sherri Dumas (Nick), and Shawna Winzar. 

David shared a deep and meaningful partnership with his best friend and companion, Pam Gilbert, who stood by him with love and devotion. He is also lovingly remembered by Pam’s daughters Melinda Mallock (Trevor) and Tammy MacMaster.  He was also dearly loved by his two fur babies, Mistie and Gracie, who brought him comfort, companionship, and joy.

He was a proud grandfather to Devon, Kayley, Brandon P., Logan, Kyle, Brianna, Dawson, Brandon M., Madison, Connor, Matthew and Caelyn and was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.

David is also survived by his brothers Andrew (Annie), Arden (Louise), and Bev (Ethel); his sisters Elaine Mabie (late Paul), Arlene Dick (late David), and Laurie Cronkhite (Danny), as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Ruth (Lloyd) Dickison; his son Troy; his brothers Donald, James, and Robert; and his sisters Eva, Gladys, and Arleigh.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to all who offered care, compassion, and support during this time.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1 to 4 pm at York Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Interment will take place in the spring at the New Maryland Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
