Obituary of Dale Hamilton
The passing of Roger Dale Hamilton of Mactaquac, NB, husband of Sharon Frances (Howland) Hamilton, occurred on January 15, 2026, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 20, 1954, in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Grace (Jones) Reimer and Lawrence Hamilton, survived by step-father Darel Reimer (Wanda).
Dale, a jack of all trades, worked as a machinist, in sales, and had his own painting business until he retired. He had a passion for sailing and was an avid hunter and local gun expert. If anyone had a problem they could bring it to him and get a solution or at least a strong opinion on how it should be done. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He liked to stay close to home and visit friends in the neighborhood.
Dale is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; daughters, Lisa Davidson (Chad), Erin Cobham (Nick), and Laura MacFadzen (Tyler); grandchildren, Ariana, Brynn, Eli, Jasper, Ruby, Audrey, and Wesley; brothers, Bill Hamilton (Mary), and Michael Hamilton (Diane); nieces and nephews, Hannah, Heather, Joey, Kate, and Mackenzie; as well as a large extended family, many life long friends, all of his poker buddies, and his fellow sailing enthusiasts.
Visitation will take place at Mactaquac Baptist Church, 1496 Route 105, Mactaquac, NB on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4 – 6 pm. The funeral service and reception will take place the following day at the Mactaquac Baptist Church, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 am with Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
