Joan Ann Mae Evans-O'Leary (Greene)

September 20, 1942 - January 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden peaceful passing of Joan Ann Mae Evans-O'Leary (Greene) of Fredericton, New Brunswick on January 13, 2026 at Hospice Fredericton.  Born on September 20, 1942 in Zionville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Florence Evans (nee: Moran) and Arthur Evans. 

Those left to mourn her loss are her loving daughters, Paula Poirier (David) of Fredericton and Ruth Doiron (Roger) of Zionville; her siblings, Edward Evans (Sandra), Stephen Evans (Marilyn), Daniel Evans (Geraldine), Linda Stewart (David), Judy Underhill (Wavell); her grandchildren: Katie (Jeff), Whitney, Sarah, Macey (Dustin); her great grandchildren, Landon, Josie, Wyatt and one on the way and her step-grandson, Cole. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and many furry companions. 

Honorary pallbearers are Edward Evans, Stephen Evans, Danny Evans, David Poirier, Roger Doiron, David Stewart and Wavell Underhill.

She leaves this world to join her parents and her brother David Evans.

A visitation will be held in memory of Joan on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 from 2-5 p.m. and from 12-1 p.m. on Sunday, January 18th, 2026 at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A Memorial service will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 18^th, Pastor Chris Bennett to officiate, with a reception to follow. An interment will take place in the spring. 

Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis, Heart & Stroke Foundation, SPCA, Fredericton Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
