Obituary of Lawney Haviland Price

His life is a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - “And be true kind one to another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you”

November 23, 1935 - January 8, 2026

Lawney Haviland Price, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2026, at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Lawney was born on November 23,1935 in McNamee, NB to Alexander “Sandy” Price and Ruby Katherine Stewart. He married his longtime friend and love, Betty Leona Price on March 16, 1957.

Those left to mourn his loss are his loving son, Mark Price (Ivy Griffin); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, Casey, Cyarra and Dawson and his brother, Todd Stewart. He will be dearly missed by many as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

He leaves his world to join his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty Price; his siblings, Donald Stewart and Colleen Price (Albert).

Lawney devoted his life to the church, love of music and time for his family. He enjoyed jam sessions with his musical ensemble, woodworking in “the shop”, reading the Bible and spending time with his brothers. He also enjoyed the outdoors as he devoted his life’s work as a Conservation Officer on the “Mighty Miramichi”.   

In memory of Lawney, a visitation will take place on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly from 2- 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., 287 McNamee Rd, McNamee, NB. The funeral service will take place at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on January 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Allison Cromwell officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Galen Price, Joe Stewart, Larry Stewart, Luke Price, Tom Lyver and Wynn Price.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Slim Price and Stephen Peterson.

An interment will take place at the Porter Cove Cemetery in the spring.
