Obituary of Wayne Robert McCoy

The passing of Wayne Robert McCoy of Richibucto Road, NB, occurred on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 23, 1968, in Fredericton, NB, Wayne was the son of Wayne and Mary (Sparks) McCoy.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is survived by his sister, Shae McCoy-MacKenzie (Chelsey MacKenzie); Young life partner, Sally Fitzpatrick; stepson, Ryan Fitzpatrick; granddaughter, Taylor Boutilier-Fitzpatrick; niece, Mikayla McCoy; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Nicki McCoy; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Greta McCoy; maternal grandparents, Leo and Alice Sparks; and his beloved cats, Monte and Carlo.

Wayne had a deep love for cats and found comfort in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, cars, and computers, and was happiest spending quiet moments watching traffic go by with a smoke and a cup of coffee. He appreciated life as it came—uncomplicated and unhurried—and those who knew him will remember his dry humor, straightforward nature, and appreciation for the small things.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Bartlett Special Care Home, the Emergency Room nursing staff, the 3 East nursing staff, as well as Dr. Ginn and Dr. Lee for their care, compassion, and support.
