The passing of Carole Marie (Small) Roe of Fredericton, New Brunswick, wife of the late Robin Marshall Roe, occurred on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Hospice Fredericton, just a day before her 87th Birthday. Born on December 25, 1938, in Bexleyheath, England, Carole was the daughter of the late Victor and Helen Small.

Carole enjoyed a career in teaching until the birth of her children, after which she devoted herself to her family and many personal interests. She had a deep love of books and delighted in sharing her reading with others. Carole was devoted to her dogs and all animals, and she was a talented knitter and quilter.

Carole is survived by her sons, Jeremy Roe of Birmingham, UK and Jon Roe (Julie) of Penniac, NB; her grandchildren, Oliver Aubertin, Leif Roe, Bauer Roe, Craig Allen (Amanda), Matthew Allen (Kate), and Emily Roe-McCloskey (Nancy). In addition to her husband, Carole was predeceased by her daughter, Kathryn Aubertin, and many in-laws.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses, staff, and volunteers at Hospice Fredericton for the kindness, compassion, and dignity they showed Carole during her final days. Their gentle care and unwavering support provided comfort not only to Carole, but to her family as well, and will always be remembered with heartfelt appreciation.

At Carole’s request there will be no visitation or services. Interment will take place at Penniac United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton – Palliative Care Resource Network Inc. or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
