Obituary of Grace O'Donnell

We announce the peaceful passing of Yukonna “Grace” O’Donnell on December 24th in Moncton, New Brunswick.

She is survived by her companion, Eugene “Bill” Bilodeau; her daughters, Cynthia Nadine of Moncton, Patricia (Brad) of Moncton, and Vanessa (Rob) of Charlottetown, PEI; her grandchildren, Tom and Sophie, Tristram and Reece; her stepson, Darryl (D.J.); her brother, Herman; and her sisters, Sandra (Storey), Viv, and Rhonda.

Grace was predeceased by her parents, Sadie (Price) and Tom O’Donnell, and her brothers, Blake, Lawson, Richard (Dick), and Wallace (Wally).

Grace’s life took her through many journeys. She taught school in New Bandon, served as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and worked in administration for companies across New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, and British Columbia. She eventually returned to her beloved New Brunswick and her home in Carroll’s Crossing, which she fondly referred to as C.C.R.

She loved gardening, art, reading, berry picking, music, and watching movies—especially The Sound of Music, Anne of Green Gables, and Downton Abbey. Grace enjoyed hosting dinner parties, which almost always included a sing-along, surrounded by family and friends.

Her “girls” and her grandchildren were incredibly special to her. She took a deep interest in their lives, activities, and education.
