Dumais, Michel Oliver

The peaceful passing of Michel Oliver Dumais of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 8, 2025 at home surrounded by his children. Born on June 19, 1958 in Mont Carmel, QC, he was the son of the late Carmelle (Lavoie) and late Andre Dumais.

Michel was also predeceased by one of his best friends, his younger brother, Claude Dumais.   

Michel is survived by son's: Spencer Dumais (Tiffany) and Kristof Dumais (Vanessa); daughter: Steva Eidt (Michael); loving sister's Jocelyne Martin (Late Robert “Bobby”) , Denise Godin (Gilbert), Marielle Cote (Late Ray) and Brigitte Dumais; brother: Raymond Dumais (Karen); grandchildren: William and Oliver Dumais, Mila and Adler Dumais, Lauryl and Isla Eidt; along with many loving relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michel worked as a baker at Canada Bread Atlantic Ltd for many years where he gained valuable and long-lasting friendships while working there. He always had a love for the outdoors. He became a skilled hunter and fisherman. Michel especially loved bird hunting for partridge. He passed his love for the outdoors onto his children, particularly his love for fishing. He spent many days out in the canoe with his kids or friends on Curries Lake, Bass Point or the Little Presque Isle. He was always ready for a game of dice with a good hunting or fishing story to share.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Michel’s closest and dearest friends and their families including Danny (Wendy), Joey T. (Janet), Tony (Janet),  Lisa and Roma and many others. Your friendships meant the world to dad over the years.
