Obituary of Nadine Marie McKeown

The passing of Nadine Marie McKeown, of Fredericton, NB, beloved wife of David Allen McKeown, occurred on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 17, 1938, in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clarence S. and Frances L. (Lafferty) Saunders. Nadine worked for many years as a Data Clerk with the Provincial Department of Finance. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and, later, Our Lady of Peace Parish. Nadine loved reading and was a beautifully gifted cook, but above all, her greatest joy was her family; her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She shared a lifelong, cherished bond with her sisters, everyone fondly knew “the Saunders girls of Marysville.”

In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, Nadine is survived by her son, Tim McKeown (Brenda) of Fredericton, NB; her daughter, Susan Collett (Mark) of Fredericton NB; her grandsons, Brendan McKeown (Amanda) of Halifax, NS, Scott McKeown (Megan) of New Maryland, NB, and Jared Collett of Halifax, NS; sisters, Phyllis Estey (late Brian) of Fredericton, NB, and Evelyn Ogilvie (Fred) of New Maryland, NB; special grand-niece, Tara of Fredericton, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place in York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11 am with Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place at a later date in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery, Marysville, NB.
