Forget, Yvon Gilles

The passing of Yvon Gilles Forget of Fredericton, NB, occurred on December 1, 2025 at Shannex - Medley Hall.  Born on October 19, 1947 in Saint Sauveur-Des-Monts, QC, he was the son of the late Oliva (Labelle) & Alderic Forget and is predeceased by his sister Jeannette (Philippe) and brother Ernest.

Yvon is survived by sons, Jason (Jeannie) and Pierre, his brothers Jean-Claude (Paulette), Gaston (Claudette) and Raymond.  He is also survived by his grand children, Jamie, Austin, Joshua, Jacob and Jemma, along with his great-grand children, Lucas, Aurora and Jack.

He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1989, settling in Kamloops, BC. “Frenchy”, as he was called by many always had an infectious smile and was known for his funny charm.  He loved to paint and had a passion for golf that earned him several lifetime holes-in-one. 

Yvon’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Medley Hall, as well as a heartfelt appreciation to the staff and residents of Meaningful Connections. 

As per Yvon’s wishes, there will be a private service at the Cimetière de Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts at a later date.  Any donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
