Obituary of Mavis Irene Kendrick

Mavis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Shannex, Medley Hall, Fredericton, NB with family by her side. She was 93 years old.

Mavis was the daughter of the late Howard and Jean Waugh. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Kendrick; her son, Steven and his partner, Joan Gamble; her brothers, Lloyd, Darrell, Allison, Doug, Melvin and Bill; her sisters, Leone Townsend, Anne Miles, Carol and Gweneth Waugh.

Mavis leaves behind her children, Gail (Goolie) Brewer, Michael (Lori) Kendrick, Kathy (Blaine) Harvey, and Gary (Lisa) Kendrick. She was also a dearly loved Nana to her nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mavis was born on a farm in Douglas to a very close family. She spent her married life in Marysville in her brick house on Canada Street where she raised her family and worked at both the Marysville and Devon Drug Stores. She was a member of the Bridge Church in Marysville and had cherished friends there. She was very devoted to her family and friends and will be greatly missed by them all.

The funeral service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Cemetery Extension following the reception.
