Obituary of Garfield Wayne Foster

The passing of Garfield Wayne Foster of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 25, 2025, at Shannex – Neill Hall. Born on September 19, 1949, in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Ruby (Barker-Young) and the late Arnold Foster.

 

Garfield is survived by his nephew; Leonard McLean, nieces Leona McLean, Bobbi-Jo Simon, and Stacey Foster; his chosen brother Mike Lint (Kim); special friend Marg Lint; chosen sisters Sandra and Susan (Stuart); as well as several additional nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Foster, chosen sister Marie Grant and special friend Kenneth Lint.

 

Garfield spent his career working as a Bank Inspector, a role he took great pride in. He had a lifelong love of travelling and was an enthusiastic war-history buff. A dedicated hockey fan, Garfield followed the UNB Reds faithfully and cheered passionately for the Toronto Maple Leaf’s. He also enjoyed card games and time spent in good company.
