Obituary of Janet Cordelia Rees

Janet Cordelia Rees, born on June 29, 1945 in Wales, passed away November 24, 2025, in Stanley, NB. In her earlier years Janet worked at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in the laundry department. Later in life she provided home care for individuals in her community. In her spare time Janet enjoyed cooking and had a great affection for cats. She always had a stash of treats and a desire for willingness to adopt just one more. Janet will be remembered for her feisty attitude and willingness to speak her mind. 

Janet was predeceased by her parents, Jane (Ruff) and Edward Pelkey; her brother, Allan Pelkey; and grandson, Carl. Janet is survived by her children, Troy McKeough (April), Lisa Cole (Jude), and Galvin McKeough; grandchildren, Joe (Tina), Michelle (Dallas), Destiny (Peter), Carly, Tim, Matt (Chantelle), and Chris (Jenn); great grandchildren, Owen, Kypton, Luka, Brielle, Leo, Jixxer, Thalia, James, and Margaret. 

Left to mourn are her sister, Cheryl (Aden); brothers, Mike and Shane (Heidi); special sisters-in-law; Loretta and Lois; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousin. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Nashwaak Villa for their care of mom over the last seven years. Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Donations in Janets memory can be made to the SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
