Ray Bertram Patterson of Fredericton, NB, husband of Norma Beryl (Thomas) Patterson, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Frederick Hall, Shannex. Born on September 27, 1936 in Middle South Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late: Geraldine (Dore) and Murray Patterson.

Besides his wife, Ray is survived by his son, Tim Patterson (Dianne) of Keswick Ridge; brothers, Murray Patterson (Lorraine) of Fredericton,  Shawn Patterson (Roxann) of Tay Creek, Terry Patterson (Mary) of Fredericton; sister, Diana Goodine of Fredericton; sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Patterson and Carol Patterson  of Fredericton; grandchildren, Jordan (Michelle), Melissa (Andrew Brooks), Bradley (Sarah), Laura (Brandon Cairns) and Kyle Patterson, great-grandchildren: Milo, Landen, Abel, Theo, Riley, Lydia, Blake, Lainey and Marty Ray, many nieces and nephews, along with Norma’s 4 daughter’s: Joni Torunski (Stephen), Jane Conrad, Wanda Dunphy (Zach Hapeman), Rebecca Dunphy, their children and grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Ena (Hyslop) Patterson; sisters, Mavis and Sadie, along with his brothers, Gary, Zenus, and Stanley; brother-in-law: Reg Goodine, son-in-law, Karl Conrad. 

Ray was a long time active member of Devon Park Baptist Church. He worked as a service technician for Sears for over 25 years. In his spare time, he loved tinkering in his garage or making house calls to help friends and family with their broken items. His passion for fixing things and willingness to lend a hand only added to his reputation as a trusted go-to for appliance and small machinery repairs. Due to failing health, Ray spent the last 2 ½ years of his life at Shannex Frederick Hall. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the management and staff for the kind and compassionate care that he received while there.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 28th at 11:00 am at York Funeral Home, Fredericton, NB, officiated by Reverend Janice Queale and followed by burial at Dayton Cemetery, Douglas, NB.
