Obituary of Jeanne Elizabeth Bishop

The passing of Jeanne Elizabeth (Hitchcox) Bishop, wife of the late Donald Bishop, occurred on Friday, November 21, 2025 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB in her 100^th year. Born on April 15, 1925 in Greater London, England, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Eveline (Maxwell) Hitchcox. Jeanne came to Canada as a war bride in March 1946.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Susan Graves of Portland, Bruce Bishop of Halifax, and Karen McCann (Bill) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren, Tracy (Robert), Christopher, Jillian, Joel (Teya), Mark, Shannon (Garry), Kristie (Michael), and Jeffrey (Brandi); 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Allen; daughter-in-law, Terri Bishop; and son-in-law, Leslie Jensen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. As per Jeanne’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
