DRESSAIRE, MICHEL H

The passing of Michel H Dressaire of Fredericton, NB occurred on Saturday November 15, 2025, at Hospice House Fredericton. Born on July 28, 1946, in France, he was the son of the late Henri and Emma Dressaire. Michel is survived by his three children: Nathalie Dressaire (Allan) of Fredericton, NB, Danielle Williams (Hayward) of Grande Prairie, AB and Michael Dressaire (Kristen) of Fort Frances, ON. He also leaves behind four grandchildren Kailey (Ryan), Brenden, Kaitlyn (Colby) all of Fredericton and Landon in Fort Frances, ON as well as two sisters, Hugette and Nicole (France), brother-in-law James “Tubby” St. George (NF), son-in-law Rodney, several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Margaret, and his sister Francine.

Michel came to Canada in May 1971 with Michellin France to help train workers and set up the first Michellin Tire plant in Granton, NS. It was in Stellarton that he met the love of his life; Margaret and they married in June 1972. During his life in Canada, Michel worked for Michellin Tire in NS, and the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City, NF where he retired in July 2005. After moving to Nackawic, NB in 2008, Michel and Marg began a wood working business (M & MD Woodcrafts) and made many different things including indoor & outdoor furniture, doll furniture, dinettes for children, etc. They opened the Nackawic Country Market where they sold their furniture for about a year. Around the same time, Michel and Marg decided to join the Nackawic Lions Club and were committed to serving the community. They loved everything the Lions Club stood for and held various positions within the Lions Clubs and the District where they served. They later became members of the Barker’s Point Lions Club and Michel had recently transferred to the Nashwaaksis Lions Club. Michel and Marg were both huge supporters of Portage Atlantic and the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Marg began collecting can tabs as a fundraising idea for the Foundation and Michel continued the tradition after her passing.

The Funeral Service will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Friday November 21, 2025, at 11 am with Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan as celebrant. The Funeral will be preceded by a Lions Memorial Service in the church shortly after 10h30 am. Interment will take place for family immediately following the service in St. Anthony’s cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides or Hospice House Fredericton. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.

The family wishes to extend our sincerest and heartfelt appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Hospice House Fredericton. The kindness and care that you showed dad was unparalleled. He referred to Hospice as his last “home” and made sure that everyone who visited, knew how well he was taken care of. You go above and beyond for the patients you look after, and it is so appreciated.
