Obituary of Charlene Marie Boone
The family of the late Charlene Marie Boone, wife of the late Fred W. Boone Jr., announce her passing on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Windsor Court Retirement Residence, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 9, 1939 in Woodstock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charles Austin and Ella Mae (Buckingham) Gould.
Charlene will be dearly missed by her daughter, Denice Duthie (Charles) of Fredericton, NB; son, Jordon Boone (Janet) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Adam Poirier (Joselyn), Jeremy Poirier (Paxcely), Vanessa (Boone) MacDonald (Evan), and Bridgitte Boone (Simon Anctil); great-grandchildren, Caleb, Carly, and Anna; brother, Blane Gould (Charleen) of Woodstock, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
During her lifetime Charlene had many hobbies and interests and belonged to various clubs and organizations such as Beta Sigma Phi, The Kinette Club, Fort Myers Garden Club, and Stepping Stones Choir, just to name a few. Charlene also enjoyed volunteering at both Hospice locations in Fredericton and North Fort Myers Florida where her and her late husband Fred spend many winters as snowbirds. Charlene also enjoyed tending her flower garden at home and at her cottage at Maquapit Lake, as well as photography, cake decorating and, for a short period of time ran her own wedding decoration business. She was not one to have idle hands. She treasured her many friendships throughout the years and was very sociable.
The Funeral Service will be held in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Albert Snelgrove officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Palliative Care Resource Network Inc. - Hospice Fredericton, the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
