A special thank you to Stephanie Roach, Alex’s angel who stood by him in some of his most difficult times. Stephanie, please know Alex loved you very much. Special mention to Britney Knowles for her compassion and kindness to Alex. Thank you both for going above and beyond your call of duty, everything you did for him and your pizza parties.
Alexander leaves this world to join his grandparents, Herbie and Barb Hawkins.
Remembrance from Dad:
Alex’s life was not an easy one. He faced many hardships that many of us can not imagine. He had a huge heart that longed for connection. His story reminds us that every life, no matter how burdened by circumstances is precious, worthy of remembrance and deserving of love.
Alex was more than the challenges he endured. He was a son with dreams, laughter and moments of joy.
He mattered. He had a name, a birthday and a story.
His life calls us to see humanity in all people. Especially those who are overlooked.
Although his life was far too short. His memory will live on in every act of kindness and compassion for those who struggle and every time we choose compassion over judgement.
Rest in peace my son, you are loved, you are remembered and you did matter.
There will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Agency, Fresh Start Services or to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
