Obituary of Janice Anne Godin

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janice Anne Godin (née Way) left this world for the stars on October 11, 2025. She is survived by her loving family, her daughter Natalie, and sons Alex, Brian, and Richard, as well as her beautiful grandchildren, Delilah, Gabrielle, Ashley, Carissa, Harley, and Dustin. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her. She was met on the other side by her wonderful husband, Roger, her mother and father Eileen and Frank Way, and her sister Lorraine.

Mom was the kindest, most generous woman I know. She would help her friends by mending their clothes, knitting them slippers, or just sitting down for a chat over a jigsaw puzzle. She loved to share her knowledge of crafting and taught many people how to sew, knit, and crochet over the years. She also shared her talents for many years as a volunteer with the John Caldwell School Drama Club, making costumes for the children.

Mom and Dad met over their love of music. They both loved to play acoustic guitar and sing, and they would share their joy of music with all those around them, especially us kids. They ignited this love of music in all of their children and grandkids. They always wanted to help those in need, and they would make generous donations of clothing and supplies to the Men's and Women's shelters of Fredericton. Mom would gather items in shoe boxes and wrap them up for the residents of Hospice House so the people there would know they were cared about over the holidays. She knew what hardship felt like and was determined to ease as much suffering as she could while she was here.

Our family would like to send a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff and residents of Hawkins House. They were good friends to Mom these past two years and we are forever grateful. We are also so grateful for the care Mom received while in the Palliative Care unit of the DECH. The folks there were so caring to Mom and the whole family.

Mom didn't want a funeral, so we will respect her wishes. Please send her your prayers. Just look up at the sky, she'll be listening. We love you Mom, forever and always. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
