Obituary of Donna Christine Clark
Donna Christine Clark, born February 20, 1945, to Christina (Price) Stapledon and Allan Stapledon, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. Donna had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease several years previously. Although she experienced a number of changes in her personality and ability to communicate, the kindness and optimism that were always her core remained intact.
Donna worked for the provincial government for many decades, using her skills as an early female computer programmer. She was an animal lover like her dear late brother Peewee, and she rescued several feral cats.
In Donna’s high school valedictory address, she acknowledged her debt to “those figures in the pageant of mankind who have contributed to that vast sum of knowledge we have only tapped” and urged her fellow graduates to approach the future with courage and to leave the world a little better than they found it. She certainly succeeded.
In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Jack, Earl, and Peewee, her former husband Gary Clark, and her partner Richard Corbin. She is survived by her sister Mona, sister-in-law Arlene, aunt Jessie McAleer, children Chris (Chantal) and Alex (Andrew), grandchildren Arthur and Henry, and cat Katie.
The family would like to thank the very kind folks at Eden’s Retirement Villa who took care of Donna in her final months and days.
A Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on October 18, 2025, from 3 pm to 5 pm. For those who wish, donations could be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or CARMA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
