Walter Gilbert Coy of Fredericton, NB, peacefully passed away at York Care Centre on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born in Stanley, NB, on May 30, 1937, to the late Phair and Edith Coy (Flewelling).

Walter was a dedicated worker, beginning his career driving a bread truck for his family's business, Coy's Bakery. He then went to work as a Grocery Clerk at Tingley’s and Superstore. He also spent many years, sharing his strong work ethic and kindness with those around him.

Walter enjoyed camping with his family, fishing with Dana, and engaging in square dancing and skiing with his wife. His warm personality and love for family leaves a lasting legacy. Walter was a huge Johnny Cash fan, loved singing and dancing to his music, and often enjoyed these moments with family, friends and even the staff at York Care Centre.

At the family's request, there will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice to honor his memory.

He will be dearly missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
