Obituary of Katherine Lynn Nichols

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Katherine “Kathy” Lynn (Colford) Nichols of Fredericton, NB, announces her passing on her 67^th birthday, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Stanley, NB, Kathy was the daughter of Martin Colford and the late Rhoda (Dorcas) Colford.

Kathy will be remembered for her warm heart, sharp wit, and love of life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed Bingo, card games, puzzles, and old television shows. Known for her sense of humor and easy laugh, she was a loyal friend, a loving mother and grandmother, and a comforting presence to those who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Nicole Colford (Nick); her grandson, Cooper Upton; her brothers, Kevin Colford and Ralph Colford (Linda); her niece, Amanda MacDougall (Eric); her nephews, Christopher Colford (Kayla) and Alex Colford; as well as her dear friend, Kate Dibblee (James-Andrew) and her son, Thomas.

A visitation will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 11 – 1 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 1 pm, with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. For those who wish, donations in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
