It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Darlene Barteaux of Fredericton, NB, announce her passing on August 26, 2025, at Hospice Fredericton. She was 83 years old. Karen was the wife of the late Maurice Kenneth Barteaux and the daughter of the late Marie (Beattie) Brogan and Bernard Brogan.

Karen was born on June 3, 1942, in Amherst, NS. She worked for many years as an office administrator at Taylor Petroleum and was known for being organized, reliable, and kind to everyone she worked with.

In her younger years, Karen was involved with Theatre New Brunswick, where she acted in local plays and enjoyed being part of the community. She loved to cook and took pride in the meals she prepared for her family. She rarely missed the evening news and liked to keep up with current events and politics.

Karen will be missed by her children: David Barteaux (Kelly Osborne-Barteaux) of Halifax, Jennifer Barteaux (Kevin) of Fredericton, and Johnathan Barteaux (Bridget Bishop-Barteaux) of Fredericton. She was a proud grandmother to Kelsey Barteaux, Meagan Egers (Waylon), Jordan Horodziejczyk (Peter), Samuel Barteaux, William Barteaux, and Emma Barteaux, and a great-grandmother to Wells Egers and Olivia Horodziejczyk.

She is also survived by her sister, Linda Brogan-Tonks (Michael), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alongside her parents, Karen was predeceased by her beloved brother, Curtis “Curty” Brogan.
