Obituary of Jeanne Elizabeth Tait

It is with sadness that the family of Jeanne Elizabeth Tait of Fredericton, NB, announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born in Fredericton on September 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Murray and Lillian Angeline (Malenfant) Tait. Jeanne found joy in life’s simple pleasures—whether she was working on a knitting project, enjoying a conversation with close friends, cheering on her favourite hockey teams or gardening. She also cherished her time with her beloved furry companions.

Jeanne is survived by her brother, Robert Tait (Cheryl) of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Jackie Tait of Fredericton, NB; nieces and nephews, Steven Tait (Vicky) of Finch, ON, Michelle Eburne (Bryan) of Ottawa, ON, Rob Tait of Fredericton, NB, and Cathy Tait (Stephen Wood) of Fredericton, NB; great-nieces and nephews: Carter and Camden Tait and Megan and Nathan Eburne and close friends Janet, Marlene and Sandra whose treasured friendship and support meant so much to her. She was predeceased by her brother, Earl Tait.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Fredericton SPCA, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
