Obituary of Rebecca Anne Gould

GOULD, Rebecca (Becky)

September 14, 1952 - July 30, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rebecca (Becky) Gould announces her passing on July 30^th, 2025, at Hospice Fredericton.

Becky was born September 14^th, 1952, in Saint John, NB, to Phillip E. Walsh and Shirley Walsh (O’Leary).

She attended Saint Vincent’s Girl’s High School and upon graduation began a nearly 40 year career in insurance that was only interrupted by leukemia in 2010 requiring a stem cell transplant in 2011, her rebirth as she called it.

While Becky survived AML, she developed dementia in 2019 and, if these two afflictions were not enough, she battled diabetes for more than 30 years.

She leaves behind her husband, Gary, and beloved son, Kurtis, to mourn her as well as her sister, Mary Jane (Maime) McGraw (Jean Marie), her brothers Thomas Walsh (Erline) and baby brother, Phillip Walsh.

In addition to her immediate siblings, Becky leaves behind many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who all had a special place in her heart.

Special mention goes to Dee Morse, her sister from another mother, who was so close to her that they could complete one another’s thoughts and with whom she had a special bond.

At Becky’s request there will be no funeral as cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 3^rd, 2025, at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, from 2:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers Becky asks that donations be made to One Match Stem Cell Network (Canadian Blood Services), the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network).
