Obituary of Aurel Joseph Durelle

Aurel Durelle of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on June 25, 1950, in Baie Ste Anne, New Brunswick.

Aurel was a bricklayer, machine operator, and construction worker. Aurel had a great sense of humor, was always kind, and loved cooking

He was predeceased by his parents, Edmond Durelle and Juanita Durelle (Martin); his sisters Jeanette Despres (Durelle), Vanoria Hibsman (Durelle), Alma Durelle, Bernadette Aube (Durelle); and his brother Eric Durelle.

Aurel leaves behind his partner of 32 years, Coleen Lockheart; his brothers Moise Durelle (Esther) of Baie Ste Anne, New Brunswick and Ron Durelle (Barb) of Fredericton, New Brunswick; and his sister Cathy Burchill (Durelle) of Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Arrangements are under the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. As per Aurel’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
