Obituary of David Everett McQuinn
After a year-long courageous battle with Glioblastoma, David Everett McQuinn of Fredericton went to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 10, 2025.
David was born in Moncton on Feburary 13, 1963, to his adoring parents Everett and Noreen (Cripps) McQuinn. He was pre-deceased by his father and by his son and namesake, David Everett Charles.
Along with his mother, he leaves to mourn his cherished wife, Heather (McGuire) McQuinn; his daughter, Brittany McEachern (Jordan); his sons, Matthew (Josie), and William (Madison) McQuinn; his grandchildren, Everly McQuinn and Declan McEachern; his sister, Judy Seeley (Tom); brother-in-law Bruce McGuire; sisters-in-law Sandra Dickeson, Katherine McGuire, and Kimberley Kupkee; nieces and nephews Victoria McQuinn (Ben), Robert McGuire (Candace), Andrew McGuire (Emma), Samantha Stanton, Jordan Dickeson, and Karyssa Sewell. He also leaves behind many honorary children and chosen family.
David graduated from Riverview High School in 1980 and earned his B.Sc. in Cinematography from Bob Jones University in 1984. He began his career as a videographer with Carota Films, worked for the CBC, Outreach Productions, WMA Communications, and formed his own company - McQuinn Media.
David wrote, produced, and directed hundreds of outstanding, award-winning commercials and videos for corporate and government clients. He and his team regularly trained and collaborated with Hollywood
professionals. So many lasting personal relationships were formed over the years. David loved and spiritually connected with his colleagues both near and far.
David’s faith was the foundation upon which he built his life. He met Heather, the love of his life, at a Bible study in Fredericton. They married in 1989 with a mutual life purpose to glorify and honour their Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, no matter what life would bring.
The storms would come, but the Anchor held. In 1995, a tragic car accident took the life of their precious Davey. In their pain and suffering, David and Heather praised God for the survival of their beautiful daughter, Brittany, and their unborn “Gift from God”, Matthew. Two years later, the family was blessed with the Godsend of William. Continued healing would come as deeply loved spouses and grandchildren joined the family.
David had a passion for God’s Word and committed large portions of Scripture to memory. He loved people and had a gift for mentoring, always encouraging with a timely passage from The Bible. Being able to do this with his family and others was David’s greatest joy.
Over the years, David and Heather shared life with so many special people. David was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Moncton, Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, and McLeod Hill Assembly of Christians and HopeCity Church in Fredericton.
Words cannot fully express the family's appreciation to the many family members and friends who have gone above and beyond in their efforts of support. Heartfelt thanks go to Fredericton Hospice for their extraordinary compassion, and to Drs. Tom & Caroline Barry and to their son, Dr. David Barry, for their care over the years.
Visitation will be at York Funeral Home on June 16 from 2-4 & 7-9; with Funeral Services June 17 at 2 pm at HopeCity Church, with reception & internment to follow. no scents, please, due to allergies. Personal condolences at www.yorkfh.com
