Curtis Eugene Gormley March 30, 1946 – June 07, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Curtis Eugene Gormley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud Canadian veteran. Born on March 30, 1946, to Clarence and Gladys Gormley, Curtis lived a full life defined by devotion to his family, dedication to service, and an unwavering spirit.

Curtis proudly served his country in both the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Air Force. His time in the military was not only marked by commitment and courage but also by camaraderie and competition. He was an avid athlete, participating in a range of sports—most notably curling, softball, and broomball—where he made countless memories and lifelong friendships.

A natural coach and mentor, Curtis dedicated many years to developing young athletes, especially through his beloved role as a goalie coach. His greatest joy came from seeing others succeed, and he took immense pride in helping shape the confidence and skills of those he coached.

Curtis was the proud father of Kirk (Julie) and Karen Gormley, and the ever-doting “P” to his cherished granddaughters, Madie and Lily Gormley. His family was the center of his world, and even as he faced significant health challenges in recent years, his love and support for them never wavered.

He will be forever remembered for his sharp wit, quick comebacks, and the kind of humour that could light up a room—often delivered with the gruff charm of someone who, even in his most stubborn moments, had a heart as big as they come.

Curtis is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Kate Gormley, who stood by his side through every chapter of life. Her love and care were his greatest comfort.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who supported Curtis throughout his journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in his honour. Some of Curtis’s favourite causes included the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, the Boys and Girls Club, and any initiative supporting children in sports.

Curtis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the love that surrounds his memory.
