Joseph Harold Plant
1969 – 2025

Joseph Harold Plant, known to everyone as Harold, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Fredericton on June 7, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family in his final moments, just as he had surrounded them with his steadfast love throughout his life.

Born in Fredericton, NB, Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his boundless generosity, quiet strength, and deep commitment to those he loved. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing his talents, or cheering from the sidelines, Harold gave fully of himself in every role he held.

He was the beloved husband of April (Spencer) Plant, and a proud and loving father to Spencer (Ty’anna), Carter, Elliott, and Bronwyn. His cherished grandson, Felix, was the light of his life. Harold is survived by his siblings: Rick Guitard (DeeDee), Ed Plant (Dale), Frank Plant (Tara), and Cecilia Letourneau (Mike). He is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family was his greatest joy, and he supported them with an open heart.

Harold had a lifelong love for softball, hockey, and ball hockey – always there when the team needed another player. Those who knew him best will remember his steady presence, easy smile, and his willingness to show up—whether for a game, a project, or simply when someone needed a friend.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gene Plant and Stella Plant-Gallant, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Douglas Baptist Church at 2 pm. All are welcome to join in remembering and honoring a life well-lived and deeply loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.), whose compassion and care brought comfort to Harold and his loved ones. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
