Stirling Frederick Flynn

Feb 4, 1935 - May 14, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Stirling Flynn announces his sudden passing on May 14, 2025, in Fredericton, NB.  Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Charles and Eileen (McLaughlin) Flynn.  

In addition to his dear sister, Joan Hay of Fredericton, he is survived by his children; Michael (Sandy) of Charleston, SC, Roger (Lori), and Elizabeth Mason (Lindsay) of Fredericton. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg), Kimberly (Kyle), Patrick, Andrea (Andrew), Derek (Abby), David (Melissa), Garrett (Kaitlyn), and Justin’s wife Jodi, along with great-grandchildren and nieces.

He was predeceased by his wife, Cherry (Symonds) Flynn, daughter-in-law, Margaret (Dorcas) Flynn, brother-in-law, Owen Hay, grandson, Justin Mason, and the mother of his children, Margaret (Pringle) Flynn. 

Stirling lived a full life and cherished the many friends he met over the years.

He had a long career in New Brunswick working with Tractors and Equipment before relocating to Komoka, Ontario.

In Komoka, he attended Kilworth United Church and was involved with several organizations such as Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth, Weight Watchers, Royal Canadian Legion Br. #598 Delaware, and others. It was through these organizations that he made many lifelong friends.

There will be a visitation at York Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 11 to 1 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 pm. Interment will take place after the service at the Fredericton Rural Ext Cemetery.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Kilworth United Church, Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 598 Delaware, or a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
