It's with great sadness that the family of Robert Brent Smith of Fredericton, New Brunswick, announce his passing which occurred on May 7, 2025, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 31, 1970, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, he was the son of Robert Smith (Dawnna) and the late Mary Lee (Moore) Smith.

Brent had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was spending time at his camp in Durham, relaxing by his fishing pond, or enjoying weekends at Grand Lake, he was truly in his element. But no matter where he was, if the light of his life—his son, Ben—was by his side, Brent’s smile was never far behind. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Amy, whose love and companionship grounded him through every season.

Brent also took great pride in working closely with his father in the family’s trucking business, building not only a career but a bond that meant the world to him. He was surrounded by many close friends who cherished his loyalty, humour, and easygoing nature. Brent was the heart of Sunday suppers at Ron and Linda’s, where his warmth and laughter lit up the room.

Though Brent's time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he shared will remain a lasting gift. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Brent is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Amy Harding and his son Benjamin Smith; brother Darren Scott (Amy); sisters Misty Sullivan (Blair), Penny Smith, Jodi Murdock (Marcus); in-laws, Ron and Linda Harding; along with many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends who were like family.

Predeceased by his sister Shyanna Smith, paternal grandparents Harry and Lillian Smith, and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Mary Moore.

Visitation will take place at Hope City, 429 Clements Drive, Fredericton on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.The funeral will take place at Hope City, 429 Clements Dr, Fredericton, New Brunswick on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Justin Beesley officiating. A private interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fredericton Christian Academy or IWK. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
