In Loving Memory of Wayne Hovey

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Hovey of Ludlow NB, announce his passing on April.24,2025. He was 78 years old.

Wayne was born in Chichester, Sussex England on September 18, 1946. He was the son of the late Garry and Irene Hovey. Brother to Wanda (Bob), Diane, Cheryl (Pete), Teresa (Peter) and Garry.

Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Hazel. He was Dad and mentor to Darren Hovey (Lannie), Tracy Spencer (Troy), Mandy Hovey (Kenric), and his chosen daughter, Wendy Ross. He was Grandad to Christie (Shawn), Brodie (Sarah), Brock (Rylee), Katie (Noah), Jeffrey, Tully, Tyson, Tanisha (Peter) and Tyrell. Many cherished great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many fur babies over the years.

In his younger years, Wayne worked as a paper boy in Chichester. He then met Hazel, the love of his life. They were married in 1965. They decided to move across the ocean, to reside in Canada where they raised their family.

His jobs consisted of plastering, crack-filling, and painting. He was well known for his fine detailed work, especially his immaculate stucco ceilings.

Dad’s favourite pastimes included gardening, hunting and bird watching. He loved to be near the ocean and going for long walks on the beach. He enjoyed his drives in the woods with Hazel, hoping for a glimpse of some wildlife. He loved animals.

The family will miss him dearly, especially all of his teasing and witty remarks.

The family would like to thank Dr. Chow for his many years of medical support. Also heartfelt thanks to Amber and her team from Extra Mural.

There will be no visitation or funeral service in respect of Wayne’s wishes.
