Obituary of Thomas Joseph Seymour

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved son and brother, Thomas Joseph Seymour, on April 8, 2025. Born on January 24, 1987, in Fredericton, NB, Thomas was the father of Gavin Seymour and son of Terry and Rhonda Seymour.

Thomas was so proud to be Gavin’s father and wanted nothing but the best for him. The love they shared was a bond that we will always cherish; from taking him fishing to sharing his love of video games, Thomas’ heart exuded pure joy when they were together.

Those who knew Thomas well knew that beneath it all, he had a tender heart. He was generous to a fault, always putting the needs of others before his own. He never wanted for anything and would insist that people not go out of their way for him—while he, in turn, was constantly doing just that for others. He often shared what little he had with those in need, always worrying about himself afterwards.

For most of his life, Thomas was a roofer, working for various companies in the city. He was no stranger to hard work and took pride in the many jobs he completed.

Thomas was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Harold and June (MacFarlane) Seymour; maternal grandparents, Weyman and Margaret (Cochrane) Murray.

Thomas is survived by his son, Gavin Jack Seymour; parents Terry and Rhonda (Murray) Seymour; sisters Erin Seymour and Laura Seymour; niece Isabelle Morote; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Thomas will be immensely missed by his family. He always had a joke ready, often followed by a quick quip and that signature side smirk, waiting for a comeback or a playful shove from one of his sisters. The silence that comes from not hearing him arrive for a visit—and the absence of his teasing nicknames—will be felt more deeply than words can express.

We don’t believe Thomas would’ve wanted a somber send-off. Instead of a formal visitation, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us for one last beer and to celebrate his life. Please join us at Killarney Lake Lodge on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

A graveside funeral service will take place at a later date.

We love you, Thomas, and know that you are watching over us.
