We were so sad to hear about Myles passing. We hadn’t seen him in many years but we have so many fond memories of him as well as Joan. We loved having conversations with him because he always had a story to tell and was so knowledgeable about so many subjects. Always had a lovely smile and a caring heart. Condolences to all the family at this sorrowful time. He will be missed. - Brent & Janice Taylor

Dear Carolyn, Janice and Nancy,
We are so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. We knew Myles and Joan very well. I, Theresa, knew them from the 1960s when they lived in Bathurst and then Peter and I visited with them in Doaktown.
Myles and Peter were both Forestry graduates so they had a lot in common.
We send our love, blessings and condolences,
Theresa and Peter Pearce (Nanaimo, BC)

I’m sorry to hear of the passing of Myles. He was a kind and soft spoken gentleman who loved to talk about the woods. I worked one summer at the Department of Natural Resources in Doaktown and we saw a lot of him as ha paced and fretted walking back and forth in front of the map and wondering where the fire was going to go next. Always a gentleman and a pleasure to chat with as my Father also worked in the woods. He lived a long life but the loss of Joan was difficult. To all of you I send my condolences and tell you to carry your treasured memories with you. Sending Prayers and Thoughts as you go on through life without him God Bless

HAVING WORKED AT SCOTIABANK FOR 32 YEARS RETIRING IN 2002, I REMEMBER MANY FOND MEMORIES OF MYLES AND HIS WIFE JOAN (WHO WAS ALWAYS SO HAPPY AND SMILING, SHE WORE HER HEART ON HER SLEEVE AND WAS VERY COMMUNITY ORIENTED). MYLES WAS ALWAYS VERY QUIET, BUT COULD STRIKE UP A GREAT CONVERSATION VERY QUICKLY. RIP MYLES - ENTER NOW INTO YOUR ETERNAL REST

To all of Myles' Family - What a sweet, caring man!! I knew Myles "Mr. White Pine" through the Maritime Lumber Bureau, where I worked for 20 years. We saw him at least once a month and he and Joan were regulars at the Annual Conventions - such a loving couple. As many and if not more than his stories, you all have your memories to cherish of this gentle man!!

To the extended family of Myles Russell
My father “Slim” Johnson was a colleague and friend of Myles. My dad always had good things to say about Myles. They interacted on many things.. On occasion I went along when my dad was seeing Myles. I remember him as being very friendly to me and interested in what my interests were.
They were both strong proponents of sustainable forest management practices and were widely known.
May the great memories of Myles comfort you now and in the future.
Sincerely
Doug zjohnson
