Obituary of Mary Elizabeth O'Hara

Mary Elizabeth O'Hara of Stanley, NB, passed away on March 18, 2025, at Nashwaak Villa. She was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy Vincent O'Hara. Born on September 7, 1940, in Beaver Dam, NB, she was the daughter of the late Tillie (Regan) and Burns Anderson. Mary dedicated many years to her work as a Bank Teller at CIBC and was an active member of the CWL at St. Patrick's Church. She was passionate about playing cards, particularly 45s, weekly trips to bingo and enjoyed playing ball in her younger years. Mary found great joy in being around children.

Mary leaves behind her sons, Robin and Trevor O'Hara (Anouchka); daughters, Kathy Hayes (Brian) and Wendy O'Hara; brothers, Melvin Anderson (Anne) and Kenneth Anderson (Denise); sisters, Darlene Goodine and Juanita Green. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Vanessa Godin (Drue), Rebekah Godin Wickenden (Andrew), Tyler Hayes (Ashley), Corey Hayes (Maggie), Derrah O'Hara (Jordan), and Roy O'Hara; step-grandchildren, Jackson Floyd and Leon Hawkes; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Goodwin, Isaac Rushton, Ted and Dot Hayes, and Molly MacTavish Hayes, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her brothers George, Thurman, Millen, and Ardie Anderson; sisters, Flora Douglas, Audrey O'Hara, Winnifred Duguay, Lillian Wall, and Charlotte Hay; and her special aunt and uncle, Neat and Bob Regan.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Main Street, Stanley, NB, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan officiating. Serving as pallbearers are, Fred Edney, Mark Goodine, Nick Green, Jeremy Hay, Jake Anderson and Erin Wall. Interment will occur at St. Patrick's RC Cemetery, Stanley, at a later date.
