Obituary of Inez Christina O'Donnell
O’Donnell, Inez Christina (Parker)
The angels took her home on Friday, March 14, 2025. Born on June 26, 1931 to Ralph and Grace (Lyons) in Carroll’s Crossing, NB. Inez was an active member of Cross Creek Baptist Church, member of the choir, Awana Club and Bible Study. Inez loved going to church and read her Bible daily and believed in praying without ceasing. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, writing letters, sending cards and keeping track of certain events. She taught school, worked in the telephone office and most importantly cared for children. Following her marriage to Allen she later worked alongside her husband in the office at Irving Oil.
Inez is survived by her children, Roger O’Donnell (Cathy) of Durham Bridge, NB, Rodney O’Donnell of Edmonton, AB, Shelley Cowie (Peter) of Moncton, NB, Mitchell O’Donnell of Cross Creek, NB and Wayne O’Donnell of Carroll’s Crossing, NB; grandchildren, Joshua O'Donnell (Emily), Kelsey O'Donnell, Stephanie O'Donnell (Gerald), Christina O'Donnell (Neil), Drake O'Donnell, Michael Cowie (Alusha), Sarah Cowie (Jason) and Ross Cowie (Elizabeth), Isaiah O'Donnell, and Thomas O'Donnell; great grandchildren, Liam, Conner, Logan and Mila; siblings, Glen Parker (Janet) of Doaktown, NB, Betsy O’Donnell (Jimmy) of Fredericton, NB and Delbert Parker (Bonnie) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; sister-in-law, Litsa Parker of Toronto, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Lynn Price, Paul and Dixie Wellwood, Penny Mancini and Angela Clark.
Besides her husband, Allen O’Donnell, she was predeceased by her precious son, Michael O’Donnell; grandson, Dylan O’Donnell; sister, Sandra Parker; brother, Wilfred Parker; daughter-in-law, Julie O’Donnell; sister-in-law, Delores Schiedel; five nieces and nephews; and life long friend of 89 years, Irva (Carroll) Mahar.
In keeping with Inez’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A Graveside Service will take place in McGivney Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fredericton Homeless Shelter, Fredericton Food Bank or the Fredericton Community Foundation (Sarah Burns Forever Fund). Family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Khaleduzzaman who went above and beyond in providing her exceptional care. We also express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of 4E for their outstanding care and compassion to Inez and comfort provided to the family.
