Winfred Melvin Naugler (September 8, 1944 – March 13, 2025)

Winfred Melvin Naugler (Win) lived a rich and full 80 years, blessing those he knew right up until his death on March 13, 2025 in Fredericton, NB.

Win approached life with gusto, putting his whole heart and energy into whatever he took on. He loved to help and mentor people through his career, church life, and personal connections. Win poured himself out, always willing to help a neighbour, make a friend, care for his students, and serve the community.

Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, to Melvin (1918-2006) and Lettie (1916-2004) Naugler, Win grew up on a farm with brother Victor (1940-2024) (Marilyn 1944-1988 and Ann) and sister Debbie (Gerald 1938-2018) Black. The farm life and involvement in 4-H shaped him into a resourceful person who was skilled at building things with his hands.

He was a teacher both by nature and by trade, teaching high school to university. He was a pioneer in developing technology education programs in Nova Scotia. His thirst for knowledge and love of teaching spilled over into a passion for home building, renovations, and energy efficiency. These skills became the foundation he used to frequently help and spend time with others.

Win was a devoted husband to Janis Naugler, his beautiful wife and partner in life for 54 years. He was a fiercely proud father to Krista (Graham 1972-2024) Rich, Leesa (Jonny) Robertson, Trudy (Matthew) Naugler Klassen, and Tim (Pamela) Naugler. He delighted in being Grampie to 14 grandchildren Susanna, Elijah, Rebekah, Gabriella, Ruby, Nahla, Aaron, Jesse, Charlotte, Lila, Audrey, Evelyn, Miriam, Theodore.

Win was a man of outstanding faith and integrity whose kindness and generosity will be remembered. To the Lord Jesus be all praise, honour, and glory!

A service to celebrate Win’s life will be held 2:00 pm on March 24, 2025 at Christ Central Church, 140 Clark St, Fredericton, NB. Visiting time and refreshments to follow.

An interment service will be held in summer 2025 in Port Williams, NS
