Obituary of Jean Frances Jones

The passing of Jean Frances (Dunphy) Jones of Keswick Ridge, NB, wife of the late Ivan Edward Jones, occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on January 14, 1938 in Douglas, York. Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Hazel (Burtt) Dunphy. Jean was a member of the Christian Church of Burtts Corner. Jean and Ivan enjoyed many summers at the Mobile Sportsmen Club in Ludlow, NB. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Thebeau (Pierre), Shelly Hanson (James), Stacey Reeves (Mark), and son, Timothy Jones; grandchildren, Carla Nikli, Nicholas Thebeau, Jody Hanson, Joshua E. Reeves, Joshua M. Reeves, Jason Reeves, Nakitia Rayner, Jezziah Reeves, and Brooklyn Reeves; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Alonzo Dunphy (Gayle); sisters-in-law, Rowena Scott and Mary Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, William Dunphy and Donald Dunphy, granddaughter Amy Horton and grandson, Joseph Reeves. 

A family graveside service will take place in the spring, at the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, Burtts Corner, NB with Pastor Mark Reeves officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
