Obituary of Paul Douglas Clark
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Paul Douglas Clark on February, 11, 2025, at Hospice Fredericton New Brunswick.
Born in Fredericton on September 26, 1960, he is survived by his wife, Bev, daughter Staci (Mike Stafford), son Andrew, stepdaughter Teri (Pat Blakely), and granddaughters Cece and Maggie. Ruby and Willow, the fur babies, will miss him. Paul leaves behind his siblings, Cathy, David (Barb Ramsay), Kevin (Roxanne), of Fredericton, Kelly, (Jason Otis) of Halifax. He leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom meant a lot to him. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Bertha (Pond).
Paul loved all things mechanical. He would never buy a "new car" because then it would have too many computer parts that he couldn't fix when it broke down. He loved to tinker and do bodywork on vehicles, and many people benefited from his craft. Paul loved NASCAR, and rarely missed a race on TV. His passion for racing has been inherited by Drew and they even travelled to Bowmanville, ON, so they could take in the truck races together. Paul cherished those trips with his son.
Paul was always there when someone needed something done. His siblings could always count on him when they needed him, and he could be seen blowing out neighbours after a storm, mowing lawns, fixing things in other people's homes and welcoming new neighbours to the place he called home and loved so much, Marysville. Yes, he was a true blue Marysville boy and proud of it. He could tell you stories of almost every person who lived there and of childhood antics shared with them, usually with a smile or a chuckle.
Paul was proud of the jobs that he did. From ploughing the highways in the worst of storms while working for MRDC, to bursting with pride "laying down curb" with his beloved curbing machine at his last job with MIRA Construction. His commitment was palpable to his career of driving heavy equipment, and he could fix it all.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held on June 7th at the Marysville Heritage Centre starting at 2 pm with a committal service following at the Alexander Gibson Cemetery. Reception to follow back at the Heritage Centre.
The family wishes to thank Hospice House for the incredible and compassionate care in his last days. We also want to thank Extra-Mural nurse Tannis for her care while he was at home.Thank you to Oncology at the DECH, and a huge thank you to Dr. Robert Thompson and the nurses and staff of Oncology in St. John who showed so much dedication to patient care.
Donations can be made in Paul's name to the SPCA, Hospice House, or any other charity of the donor's choice.
York Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
