Obituary of Janet Christiana Lyons
Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness that the family of Janet Christiana Lyons announce her peaceful passing at York Care Center, Fredericton, NB. Although we are saddened by her passing, we still rejoice for she has triumphantly returned to our Heavenly Father.
Janet was born December 5, 1943, in McNamee, NB, the eldest daughter of Richard Moore Lyons and Leola (Amos) Lyons. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Olga (Sterling) Amos, (Fredericton, NB), brother Lyman (Dawn) Lyons (Quispamsis, NB); Niece, Carolyn (Fred) Annis, (Burtts Corner, NB); Nephews, Tony (Natalie) Lyons, (Rothesay, NB); Donald Amos (Fredericton, NB) and Troy Brewer (Ottawa, ON); Several great nieces and nephews: Avery, Mya and Evan Lyons; Rebecca (Lyons) Rouse, Jacob and David Lyons; Brett, Brayden, Brenden, Brighton Annis and David Amos-Hayes. One Aunt, Eileen Amos.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, her younger sister, Linda (Gerald) Higgins and beloved nephew Tyron (Ty) Lyons, as well as several Aunts and Uncles.
Janet was a member of the United Baptist Church, Ludlow, NB, where she attended until her mother’s passing in 2000. Janet will be remembered for her love of singing, especially her favorite gospel hymns, all from memory, while her mother played the piano. She will be remembered by family and friends for her big hugs and her many questions such as, when is your birthday, how old are you, are you married, when is your anniversary. People were amazed by her ability to remember and each time they met her she would recite from memory all the answers to her many questions.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to the staff at York Care for their kindness, compassion and care given to Janet during her time there.
Janets arrangements are under the care of York Funeral Home. There will be no memorial service or visitation at this time. A Committal service and interment will be held at Ludlow United Baptist Church Cemetery, in Ludlow, NB at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donors choice or York Care Center.
