The passing of Richard Thomas Grant of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Aldea (Legacy) Grant, occurred on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at his home.  Born on April 17, 1945 in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas and Gwelea (Lewis) Grant. Richard worked in maintenance for the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. In recent years he could be found helping out patrons at local businesses around Brookside Mall or meeting for coffee with friends at McDonalds.

 

Richard is survived by his sister, Bonnie Fortin of Calgary, AB; several nieces and nephews.


Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Charlene Paul; brother, Gary Grant; and his long-time partner, Sharon Porter.

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12-2 pm and will be followed directly by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice House Fredericton.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
