I was fortunate to have Peter as a colleague for many years and am saddened by his loss. His professionalism, respect, and wonderful sense of humour made work a light chore. I also counted Peter as a friend and enjoyed his world view and his wide-ranging interests, including his reverence for nature. Most of all, I appreciated his kindness.

My heart and thoughts are with you Karen. This is a loss that one can't fully prepare for. Peter will be greatly missed by many. My personal wish is that I'd been able to spend more time with you two and got to know him better than I did. Distance can be a thorn. So sad to hear of Peter’s passing this past week .Jim and I enjoyed our short conversations with Peter on the Willie O’Rea walking track to discuss the issues of the day . Karen I value our friendship that we made as we plugged away for many years at VON. When you are ready would love to have a chat . Hugs .

Hi Karen, I am sorry for your loss. Peter, as house fellow, and you were a great addition to Harrison House during my final year there in 1981. When I joined UNB Anthropology, Peter was so welcoming and supportive. He became a friend and I loved his sense of humor and his respectful relationship with students. I regret not remaining in touch when he retired.

Thank you Mel; Yes, Peter had an unusual sense of humour which sometimes got him into trouble but I think that was part of the fun for him. He truly loved teaching and interacting with the students - always an important part of his day. Karen

Very sorry for your loss Karen. I not only had the pleasure of having Peter as a professor in the early 80's at UNB in Fredericton, but also the pleasure of visiting you and Peter at both the Harrison House Residence and at your home in Fredericton when you moved off campus. You treated all the young men at the Harrison House Residence as if we were your family. I still remember the occasionally weekend games nights. Regards, Clifton Hargrove
