So sorry for your loss! Always loved visiting Doreena. I loved her enthusiasm for books and learning in general. She was never fake or phoney, always genuine and you were always in a better mood when you left a visit than when you got there! She had a rare talent for encouragement in a world so in need of it! Dorena was very special to me and was like a second Mum to me. I always loved to go see her and she was never too busy for a visit. The first time I met Dorena I think I asked her if I could come see her flowers. She had beautiful flower gardens. She loved gardening, among other things, but spent a lot of time in her garden. I really think it was her happy place. She had a good sense of humor and she always made me laugh. If I was feeling sad about something, after I talked to her, I always felt better. I can still see her yet swinging her old "grub hoe", as she called it, up over her head and driving it into the ground. She was game for just about anything. One time I took her on the side-by over on the islands and she loved looking everything over. She shared a lot of recipes with me. We always got together at Christmas time and made mincemeat. We had lots of good laughs together. She was a true friend and I miss her greatly. Dorena, you will always be in my memories. Love you, Ida
