Paul MacGowan Watson


The passing of Paul MacGowan Watson of Fredericton, NB, husband to his loving wife of 63 years, Marie (Spear) Watson, occurred on Monday, September 27, 2021 at York Care Centre.  Born on November 19, 1938 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late P. Jack and Myrtle (Hazlett) Watson.  Paul was a retired Firefighter at the Fredericton Airport.  He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Fredericton, NB. 


In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Peter Watson (Nancy) of Saint John, NB, Gail Edgar (Mike) of Keswick, NB and Todd Watson (Lori) of Fall River, NS; grandchildren, Aaron and Eric Watson (Tara), Stacey Boies (Michael), Lindsay Corey (Ryan), Amy Edgar, Nicholas and Nathan Watson; great grandchildren, Maxim, Makayla, Raidon, Ethan, Camden, Jack, Peyton and Maverick; brother, Michael Watson (Jenette) of Saint John, NB; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Brian Watson.


A Public Graveside Service will take place at Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery in Keswick Ridge on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 am with Ven. Kevin Stockall officiating. Masks are required as per the family’s wishes. The Family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Tower 3 at York Care Centre who always went above and beyond for Paul and the family.
